Meet the Team

General Manager

Kalani Cowles has been working in Shirtworks since she could see over the counter. In 2011 she joined the team as a full time employee and is now acting as the General Manager. She  enjoys working with local artists and vendors to curate a diverse selection of gifts and souvenirs. When she isn't working she enjoys exploring the all things and places outdoors.  Most of all she is delighted to live in Bozeman and have the opportunity work with her wonderful team at Shirtworks.

Store Manager

Valerie Gibson is a California girl who’s been loving and living in Montana since 2013. She has been with ShirtWorks since 2014, and took over the store as manager in 2017. Arts and crafts have always been a passion of hers, when she’s not at work she can be found at home doing crafts and spending time with her big lovable mastiffs, who can also sometimes be found hanging out with her at ShirtWorks. Her favorite part about being at Shirtworks, besides all the incredible people she gets to meet on a daily basis, is definitely personalizing shirts. Seeing shirts go from a blank slate, to making or adding customers creations and making their ideas a reality is always satisfying!

Asst. Manager

Autumn Gault is currently in her 4th year at MSU studying Psychology with a minor in sociology. She is originally from Glasgow, MT where she grew up playing hockey which is still one of her biggest passions. She even played a year of collegiate hockey and Colorado State University, Go Rams! Her favorite part about working at Shirtworks is getting to meet all the incredible people visiting and give them her favorite suggestions of what to do, see, and eat.

Our Story

Our story begins back in 1964 when Don Cowles opened up The Savage Shop in West Yellowstone, Montana and started printing shirts. The retail shop’s success quickly grew to multiple locations and was re-named Shirtworks in 1973.

In 1980, Shirtworks became a well-known staple in the Gallatin Valley Mall (at the time, known as the Main Mall) until 2015 when Shirtworks moved back to downtown to their current location on the corner of Main and Grand Avenues.

In 2016, Don’s children, Carson and Kalani, took over the reins of the business. Along with many dedicated members of the Shirtworks family, they continue to uphold the high standards of providing a quality product at a competitive price with the best customer service. Carson and Kalani value the foundation their father set over his tenure in the industry and intend to carry on the legacy for years to come.
